Dear USFA members,

Please find attached a letter concerning the circumstances of faculty parents and caregivers under the ongoing pandemic conditions. USFA has been asked to initiate informed discussions with the university administration to find equitable, realistic solutions to the unmanageable demands faculty face in carrying full workloads while also providing part- to full-time care for children and other dependent family members at home.

This letter has been circulated and signed by 70 faculty members so far. If you would like to add your name to the list of signatories, please indicate in a reply email, with the subject line intact, to usfa@usaskfaculty.ca.

We intend to deliver a strong message to the employer about this critically important issue. Tell us about your experiences with caregiving during this pandemic. Experiences shared with the employer will be anonymized.
