The University has contracted with a third party to communicate information about benefits with faculty without notice or explanation to the USFA. Access to the “My Total Rewards” program is available through the employee tab on PAWS.
The Association is concerned about the scope of rights members are being asked to waive to gain access to the My Total Rewards program and is investigating whether a grievance should be filed. On its face, the waiver appears to be an unreasonable, and perhaps unlawful, intrusion into members’ rights to privacy and expectations of the protection of confidential information by employers. The Association is advising members not to consent to waiving their rights to the privacy of their salary and benefit information.
We recommend that members who have waived their rights, contact Connection Point and rescind their consent. Further information will be provided as our investigation continues.
