USFA e-letter: When to go for tenure or promotion – ninth in a series

The summative parts of SEEQ in aggregate form can be used in case files. But can SEEQ comments be included in the tenure/promotion package?

The Association has been in discussions with the Employer for some time concerning the status of free-form comments in student evaluation forms. As long as the encrypted ID can identify the source of a comment, then SEEQ comments can be used in the case.

The Employer has informed the Association that it is now possible to identify the sources of comments, and that they can be included in the tenure/promotion package. This provides an instrument that is confidential, but not anonymous. Students should also be advised that defamatory or libelous comments can be traced back to them.

If you have questions or comments about promotion or tenure, simply reply to this email and someone will get in touch with you.
