This is National Nursing Week in Canada and May 12, the birthday of nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale, is International Nurses Day.
National Nursing Week is a week that draws attention to nurses, increasing the awareness of the public, policy-makers and governments of the many contributions of nursing to the well-being of Canadians. The theme this year is #WeAnswerTheCall to showcase the many roles that nurses play in a patient’s health-care journey.
Celebrations are taking place across Canada and around the world. The Saskatchewan Union of Nurses has put together “Love Letters from the Road.” A video of messages from patients to express their gratitude and to remind Saskatchewan’s registered nurses of how much they mean to healthcare and their patients and clients. To mark International Nurses Day, Elsevier Health is hosting webinars on May 12.
Join the USFA in celebrating and thanking the exceptional nursing educators we have at the University of Saskatchewan.
