The 2017-2022 Collective Agreement established three new ranks – Assistant Professor of Teaching, Associate Professor of Teaching and Professor of Teaching. Faculty appointed to these ranks have roles primarily and substantively focused on instruction and teaching in academic programs (Article 13.1.5), and appointments to these ranks may only be made in academic units that have approved standards for these ranks (MoA 9).

The Association is interested in hearing about the status of appointments to these new ranks.

• Does your department have standards for professors of teaching?
• Has your unit submitted standards, but you are waiting for their approval?
• Has your unit requested authorization to recruit a professor of teaching?
• Has your unit requested authorization to recruit to allow for the transition of someone currently in a without term, tenure stream or continuing status appointment to a professor of teaching appointment (MoA 10)?
• Are you interested in applying for or transitioning to an appointment as a professor of teaching?
