COVID-19: What if you think you’ve been exposed?

The work of USFA members is international in scope and it is entirely possible that some of you will be exposed to COVID-19. If you have, or believe you possibly have, been exposed, follow advice available on the Government of Saskatchewan website, which includes monitoring for symptoms, self-isolation and contacting Healthline811. In addition, advise your Dean or Department Head and contact Wellness Resources (306-966-4580).

We have confirmed that our Extended Health Care Plan (EHC) and out of Country (OOC) coverage includes:

  • Traveling illness related to the Coronavirus will be treated as any other medical emergency
  • Plan members traveling outside Canada, who are placed under quarantine due to COVID-19 by a medical doctor or public health official, are considered eligible for OOC coverage
  • Emergency travel assistance benefit from the start of the quarantine period
  • The EHC will cover expenses for accommodations, meals, and replacement of lost return ticket back to home province caused by the delay, subject to any limitations in the contract.

USFA members are entitled to as much as 112 days of short term disability at full salary. The Employer is working on the short term disability process for flu-related illness and will be sharing that soon.
