Dear USFA members:
We are working very hard to make sure that agreements are in place to protect faculty members in this time of crisis. We proposed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to the employer on March 27. We are open to an agreement in whole or in a sequence of parts.
Assignment of duties
As previously reported, we have agreed informally to extend deadlines for the 2020 process of assignment of duties as set out in Article 11.1 of the Collective Agreement by one month.
Extension of the probationary period
We are also agreed with the employer that all employees holding probationary appointments and all employees beginning probationary appointments in 2020 will be granted an automatic one-year extension to their probationary period.
We await a response from the Employer on our proposed language.
